Admission into the Sports Excellence program is based on a competitive selection process based on a combination of academic and athletic performance. Students are assessed on an entry exam comprised of Engl ish, French and mathematics, as well as evaluated on their final grade 5 report card. In addition, an athletic try-out is held for the sport your child desires to practice. Thirty-two student places are available per grade level.
Academic Support is built into student schedules. All students have the option to attend academic support sessions instead of attending their sport training if they desire extra time to work with a teacher or to study.
Students in the Gymnastics, Soccer and Swimming programs train with outside organizations four times per week. The students who are in Basketball, Hockey and Track and Field train with Huskies coaches three per week and have one fitness session per week with a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach.
